Always wanted a Tacoma since I was 16 finally got one. I just purchased a 99 Tacoma sr5. Just wondering what you guys think I should do to make sure my Tacoma lives a very very long time! I bought it yesterday with only 114000 miles

    Too few to list.
Congrats. Welcome to the site. First thing to check is if the timing belt have been changed assuming it is the 3.4. Just go through the whole truck with basic maintenance like changing all the oils, plugs, flushing coolant, etc...

Also, plug wires, PCV, exterior belts, air filter.

Check the valve clearances also. A bit of work to do, but doable with normal tools. If they need adjustment, get them adjusted (a lot more work requiring a special tool). Dealer would charge around $700 to adjust, so its worth the effort to check if they need adjustment first.

If this is your first Toyota brand vehicle. You should know that the power steering system actually uses ATF Dexron 3.

Good choice in trucks. I love mine.
