Exhaust question

I recently installed an aero 2525 muffler on my 2.7 and removed the catalytic converter after the O2 sensor. I turned the tip out in front of my rear tire and now it smells like it's running rich and occasionally blows black smoke. It's cool and all and super loud, but I'm not trying to hurt my truck. Should I be concerned?

if you don't have a CEL you should be fine....y remove the cat without better headers?

 

The CEL has been on since I got it, it throws a code for an O2 sensor. The cat was really clogged up looking so I figured it would benefit from taking it off. I'll re-scan it when I get a chance and see if it's showing anything new

 

I don't care what anyone says cut the cat's off I'm getting 28 more hp and e25 mpg. Didn't throw one code I have 96 6cyl
