Rim is bent and my front right bumper/quarterpanel needs some work. The other guys insurance company is taking care of it. Does anyone have any experience with Camelback Collision Repair? It's who USAA recommended.

On a side note, I don't like that the insurance company is saying they aren't going to put in OEM parts but "like" parts as replacements. Hopefully they change their mind on that. Any past info on accidents would be awesome. I am sure there will be non cosmetic damage.

    Damage noticed:
    Wheel Alignment off
    Bumper Damage
    Wheel Surround damage
    Quarterpanel damage
    Bent Rim

Cameltoe collision repair? I'd have some reservations!
They won't change their mind! They don't care about your truck. They will fix it as cheaply as possible. You might want to get your insurance involved. They may be able to fight for you. One of the reasons we buy insurance:thumbsup:

Camelback is a really great dealership. I've bought a lot of my OEM parts from them. Id definitely trust them to fix my truck if I was in your situation.

ya a name like that does raise a thighbrow er I mean a eyebrow. This is common practice of putting on non oem parts. They also won't pay for full repair if their was prior damage at the piece needing replaced.

Just a bunch of old crap
My agent from American Family recommended Camelback Collision actually. My agent personally used them after an accident they got into. In AZ, you have the right to choose the body shop you want, and USAA is one of the best payers you can work with. Get a couple quotes from some other shops and ask them about OEM parts. You'll pay more, but USAA has to cover it to get back to "like factory new".

Camelback did a great job on my truck after it was rear-ended. And yes, I got 2 other quotes from 2 other body shops. They even quoted me a cash price that was cheaper than the check I had in-hand. USAA pays very well. I had enough left over to do a LOT of extra things on my truck, like new plate bumpers, winch, and an overhaul to my front suspension.

They didn't need to replace my truck's parts, though. They only had to do superficial body work to the existing quarter panel that was damaged, and my tailgate, and it had to go to a frame shop to get the two rear frame tabs straightened out so the bumper would mount back straight again.

My truck was there last month, and I am happy with the results (I can't tell it had been damaged).

If the other party's insurance won't pay for OEM parts, check with your insurance company, since you do have the option of having your insurance pay for the repairs. Your insurance company will then demand payment from the other company. Since your insurance company wants to keep you happy, and they will ultimately not be paying the bill, they will probably not have a problem with OEM parts.

Thank you for all the advice guys, I will get my insurance involved. I am just fearful that the truck won't be the same after the repairs and I will be hesitant to drive it the same. My first accident and it had to be on my first new truck... thats life I guess

So the preliminary quote came back and they are not going to replace the bumper but rather paint the areas that have paint damage. Both insurance companies state that they are only required to put OEM parts in if the truck is less than two years old, which is unacceptable. I guess I am SOL in regards to the insurance companies, thank god I pay them so much...

^^I went thru that with my insurance company after hitting a deer. They were going to use "refurbished" parts on the front bumper with new paint. I took the cash, added some of my own $$ and put on the ARB bumper.
