Been watching the threads eagerly awaiting the delivery of my new taco, but still have not been given a delivery date. Best I got was that the dealer informed me that the truck was already built, they traded an east coast dealer to get the one I was looking for shipped to them.

Long story short I've checked a few dealers in a drive-by in the KC metro, Lawrence KS, and Topeka KS with no luck to just see one. I also work out on the highways a lot and also have not yet spotted one.

Has anyone seen anything in the non "major market" areas? Seems like they are all going to select markets... which KC isn't small but it is tiny compared to say LA.

I drive past a dealer in St. Louis every day on the way home hoping to see one. No such luck.

I still have not even seen a TRD Pro in person let alone a 16 and I'm in the Chicago area.

Next time I drive by a Toyota dealer I'll pay closer attention. Honestly I haven't exactly been going out of my way to see the 16's

I got a chuckle out of this. So the Wichita dealership I contacted with some simple requests, could they get the build I was looking for, if they would be willing to offer me it at the price I was after, and what additional fees their dealership adds on when purchasing a vehicle. All pretty easy, and then the last request was even easier, please communicate over e-mail.

After ignoring the first 4 phone calls, they proceeded to text me about 6 times, then finally I get the most unprofessional e-mail. The guy responds in all capital letters, uses "u" instead of "you", and then says to CALL ME NOW!!! So at this point I know I'm likely not going to buy from this guy, but they have the best sales tax in Kansas, so I responded with essentially the same e-mail, stressing how I communicate over e-mail.

He proceeds to try to call me again, and text some more, another message or two with capital letters and horrible grammar (a mistake I can live with, but a professional e-mail isn't texting between you and your gf). At this point I'm ignoring him.

I see this post this morning, and in my e-mail, he says "I GOT THE ONE U WERE LOOKING FOR!!! CALL ME NOW TO GET IT BEFORE I SELL IT!!!". Needless to say it was the exact one you posted, which while close to what I was after (white with 4 tires), is clearly not a TRD-OR, and clearly does not have 4wd, indicating once again, they cannot read.

I ended up ordering from another dealership which was very accommodating even considering I later found out their internet sales manager was on maternity leave at home taking care of me (almost felt a little bad when she shared this). Needless to say I'm not going to berate the entire dealership as this is my only encounter, but their sales manager I wouldn't recommend to anyone.
