so I will start with saying I'm new here but not to forums or fab work and off-roading. I currently have a jeep but looking to sell it and get a Tacoma for instead of using my dad for hunting and can throw a quad in the box. My questions being im looking to get a mid 80s to mid 90s but if it's not sas looking to do a swap my question being I do a fair bit of wheeling looking to run 37-38 would a sas be best or can the stock ifs setup handle it or is there any upgrades ?

Also should I swap out for a 1 ton rear axle as well if I do a swap ?

If so what's the best donors axles ?

    Thanks in advance

I was just asking . What upgrades were required and looking to do some serious wheeling so that why I'm asking about 37" tires . Also as far as the quad goes i plan to build a deck for the box or flat bed .

Woah dude... There's a million reasons why 37 yields better results than 31.

OP, this comes down to abuse factor. If you run 37s, you probably can't do it super rough. If you can finesse that pedal, do it.

Jim smell thanks for the reply . In the spots I'm going I'll probs end up braking something In the front so just looking on options is there any upgrades or stronger shafts to run that can handle it or is a sas right away just a better option . Also is there any most commonly used suspension and diff setups people use for the swap ? Just looking to make it as simple and Quik as possible if I do it

Also does anybody leave the stock rear end/diff when they swap to say a 1 ton front axle ? If so how does the rear end handle 37's or bigger in stock form ? And upgrades you can do to them to make them tougher ?
