Ok just couple questions. I know ill get hate :p but i did research all about it and literally found nothing about the one im looking at. I have a 3" spacer lift (did it for da money!) but really I want to upgrade.

    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/ToytecBilstein-5100-coilovers_p_363.html
    $599

It looks good and I know toytec and bilstein are great companies, but I want to know if any of you have it or know anything about.

What is the difference between that and the adjustable? I dont need to adjust really, just need 3"...

Would this even be a good lift to choose?
Could I hopefully still fit 285?
and should a i get a 1/4 shim for taco lean if I get it

All I can think of for now!!! Thankz

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
What are your goals for the lift? Looks? Running big tires? I'm guess so... a spacer lift isn't good for much else. Are your goals still the same? In other words why do you want to change your lift?

There are many lifts for many purposes. You'll have to know what you want, and maybe more importantly how much you want to spend to get there.

As an analogy: a lift is really like a stereo system. You can spend a little or a lot and everything in between. And either way you need to know what you are trying to accomplish (movies, vinyl, mp3, streaming, high-end, etc).

So, provide more details to get better help from the TW lift experts (we have a lot of them on the site BTW).

Unless you have a plate bumper or heavy winch up front expect a harsh ride with those coils. If you are only interested in ride height they fit your bill.

At full compression tire clearance will be the same as stock unless the bump stops are changed. CV axles will wear faster and you may experience vibs and or side diff bearing issues.

Since i got the spacer lift, i didnt expect to offroad much. When i do, it hurts just go over a small tock, like curb height. I do have the stock shocks but was going to replace but the price would be about the same.

I want a better ride on road and nicer offroad. Ive never thought I would go off the trails as much as I thought, but I met alot of nice people and I like doing it. Example, going down a small path that was chewed up by rain/snow, and semi big rocks are sticking up. I can go over them right now but the landing just hurts and I have to go so slow.

Was also going to install myself just because its a coilover kit, all put together and just remove and replace. A shop wanted to charge 320+ tax to replace with 5100. Plus the price of shocks..

The 5100s with 112-620 coils set at the 0 preload position offer a pretty good ride for that price point. This setting provides an average of 1.6" of lift. If you want more you can raise the preload clip to the first position for 2.5". Ride will be a little harsher on small bumps.
At three inches of lift you will have very little down travel (wheel dropping in a pothole). Not to mention putting a lot of strain on the front drive components.
1.6 increase in ride height with a 33" tire and you will be sitting pretty tall while having a suspension that works much better than stock.

The lift I linked comes with springs that are 2 1/2" of lift. And since it says its non adjustable, im guessing they put on the lowest setting on the shocks to get to 3"

I do have like an avid guard with lights (about 70 ish) and might add a winch in the future.

What do you mean by a harsher ride, vs the stock prerunner non trd shocks with 3" spacer..

Whatever you get will be better than that settup. You risk a broken shock because at full compression you will not contact the bumpstops and the shock gets hit with a huge load. They break down by the lower mount.

Harsher relative to no additional preload on the 5100 setup. By harsher ride I mean the preload will be increased thereby reducing small bump compliance. The more preload the more energy required to overcome that preload and move the damper.

Good luck, you may try looking thru the suspension section for more info and options.

How much of a difference do you think the ome vs toytec is??

Since the shocks arnt being compressed by alot, it cant be that bad ;p!

Just call Toytec. I was debating between the exact two kits. I called Toytec and they were very helpful and knowledgeable.

I ended up getting the adjustable kit (which is really only adjustable if you rebuild the strut) on my DCLB TRD Sport the ride is great. I barely feel washboard on gravel roads and it sits really nice. I added the top plate spacers to mine. 1/4" on the passenger side and 1/2" on the driver side. It sits perfect now.

If you plan to keep wheeling or want to do more, this setup should work fine. I would recommend looking into some extended travel coilovers in the future though. You should also replace your UCA's. Mine stock UCA's hit the coil at full droop which is starting to become a problem. And my truck rarely leaves pavement.

I run 265/75/16 with 1.25" spacers and the TRD beadlocks which have a 4.5 offset. I have no rubbing at all. If I went to 285 I think some trimming would need to happen.

I would also try removing your sway bar. I recently took mine off and it made a world of difference with how soft the front end feels over bumps. Just be mindful of the added body roll on the highway.

    Hope that helps!

Go with a Maxtrac Spindle lift and you will be set.

For me OP lift was no concern to me, didn't really care and don't mind running smaller tires. Wanted strong on and off road ride performance. My off-road riding is trails and not rock crawling. And I like to drive fast and go up impossibly eroded paths in inclement weather (mud, snow, ice, etc).

So for me an OME setup made sense and was the best value for what I wanted to do. I've put 40K+ miles on mine now and have no regrets. I love the ride and although not as good as some suspension setups it's at a good price point and very durable. And I have a 2.75" - 3" lift that provides adequate clearance without being unstable.

Really it all depends on your budget.

Plus the 4" lift is what these trucks need to balance the look. I was skeptical at first then did the research and glad I did. Now I have to bring drool cups and cleanex where ever I go. Remember 4, 6, 18, scales. Good luck with your decision.

Was going to read about the 4" spindle lift, but I heard you needed 17" rims. And my wheel setup, im pretty sure wont cut it. Ome sounds like the good setup and hopefully I could get my 33s to fit in.

Thank you for everyones comments and info, not making a discion yet but between these 3, im pretty its going to be one of them.
