So ive been hearing this noise that id describe as a pig growling and i feel a slight vibration through the steering wheel. Its been happening intermittently for the past 2ish weeks and would only happen when backing into my driveway or leaving for work in the morning. Now its been happening more often but its still too intermittent to catch it.

    Check your PS fluid level.

If its low, verify the type of fluid you need. On older Toyotas, like mine, ATF Dexron III is used. Not certain on the later models.

    Wheel bearings, check them.

    Jack up wheel.
    Grab it at 9 and 3 o'clock and at 12 and 6 o'clock.
Try and wiggle the wheel side to side and top to bottom.
Any free play you have a bearing issue.
Slowly rotate the wheel and see if you feel any roughness.
