I love my new (to me) Taco. This is my first Toyota product, and aside from the funky clock, it has been/is and outstanding vehicle. But I now have a small complaint. The (manual) shifter is very "spongy" and "bendy". Its not really "unprecise" and shifts positively, but it just feels "soft" if you know what I mean.

Is this from the linkage, or the shifter itself? And if the latter, does anyone make an after market shifter for it?

    Thanks!

There are a few after market shifters. If I were you I would start by replacing the shifter bushings and the little white plastic thing on the bottom of the shift lever (inside). I am sure someone will chime in with part numbers for that. I know Marlin Crawler has the shifter bushings, they also have the little plastic cap I'm talking about.
