That is something I need to do for my bug out gear. What is your background? I could use a list of REQUIRED items!

I like this thread. I've been meaning to put a first aid kit together to carry in my truck.
@kai38` What kind of bag are you using? I've been looking at some 5.11 tactical pouches but not sure if want to order one without having it in my hands first. Does anyone have this bag? http://www.511tactical.com/66-med-pouch.html

    http://www.redcross.org/prepare/location/home-family/get-kit/anatomy

    Some kits from Amazon
    http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&page=1&rh=i:aps,k:first aid trauma kit

Sometimes Walgreens has a special were you buy 3 1st aid items you get a small 1st aid pouch for free
You can stock and build your own cheaper then buying a stocked one.
Also find a basic 1st aid book or take a class.
Might be able to find a local member that's in the FD that can put together a 1st aid class for your group.

Something else we thought about that you really don't want to, is a contact list of people in your group in case of an emergency so family members can be contacted.

    Well that plus

No ambulance needed. A 50 cent bullet is a lot cheaper than a hospital stay.

    Bone Stock.Why mess with perfection?Except...
Looks like a real good set up to me, OP. When I was a Paramedic, one of my favorite pieces of "equipment" was an inch thick stack of 4x4s and a role of good tape. Solved a lot of problems with those. I know you know what I mean.

Thanks! I have no doubt that your list is good. Anything to avoid because it is useless gear or poor quality gear? Any recommended brands?

I've got an entire first in bag in my tool box, to many people while I was at martial arts tournaments or horse shows doing photography would come running up asking if I could help.

Only thing not in the bag is ALS supplies (minus a few 18g and 20g , start kits and flushes)

In the cab however I have a whole pouch full of gauze, an Israel bandage, quick clot x2 military grade and civilian and a Tq

    Many & varied
I'm a Lifeguard instructor so I always keep a rescue fanny pack in the truck. I also have a small plastic tool box from Sears with a variety of stuff: instant ice packs, gauze, band-aids, eye patch, tape, medical scissors, flashlight, hypo blanket, orange vest, hand warmers, latex gloves, pocket mask, sailor's whistle, a couple rolls of Coband/Coflex (this stuff REALLY comes in handy. I've used more of this than anything else for aiding with sprains & broken bones).

What does everyone keep their medical supplies in? What sort of bag does everyone use?
