Will a full exhaust give me a permanent check engine light?

I already have a 3 inch cat back exhaust but I am planning on doing headers and a Y pipe. After doing this I won't have cats anymore, does that mean that I'm permanently going to have a check engine light or is there a way around it?

 

URD o2 similar will take the cel off but will fail a visual inspection.

 

Dunno where the guy lives. Maybe he should read lotsa posts and see if it matters.

Really depends where you live OP.

If they ask for a visual inspection you fail.

Would I be able to do just the Y pipe without getting a check engine light or having to do 02 simulators?

 

Reading some of your other threads about exhaust mods, Sc, headers and etc.

If you keep the first bank of cats (headers) i dont think you need the O2 sims but if you need it, its a really simple installation (plug'n play) of 10-15 minutes and it's not the more expensive mod.
