    All,

I have the Awful 0-10mph take off vibe. I have the 1.6 eibach coils over 5100's set at 0. I have a 1.5" wheelers AAL in the rear. Initially, I guess I didn't notice it - but I was hoping staying under 3" would avoid vibes and replacing UCAs. Has anyone cured this with a carrier drop? I don't really understand how to measure drive shaft angles, but the 1/4" OME drop didn't cure me. I'm open to suggestions... And I've read and searched, but most people don't do a 1.6 front and 1.5 rear combo. Thanks in advance!

i just did my rear, and put the carrier drop on. i have the same vibe you're talking about, but i wouldn't classify mine as awful. Its a minor nuisance if i'm paying attention...

anyway. i've been thinking about that carrier drop. a gap remains between the shaft and the upper carrier, so i'm wondering if our shaft is vibrating because the carrier drop creates a gap for the shaft to have z-axis free play, and not because of a greater angle. I say that, because you don't have as bad an angle as me and sounds like you have worse vibrations. thinking about it more, your gap is smaller than mine (due to a shallower angle), which means your shaft might be contacting the top carrier during the vibration.

I wonder if there is a bushing we can put between the shaft and the top carrier.

Sorry gents. By awful, I just meant hard to cure. It's not a terrible vibe, but vibes just bother me. I do not have the TSB pack, just the standard 2+Overload and a 1.5" AAL. I guess the first order of business is try dropping it more than 1/4" and see if that helps.

Drop it less than 1/4". I would start at 1/8 or maybe even 1/16. I have tsb and wheelers 2" all. I dropped my carrier bearing maybe 1/8" and vibes are all but gone. I started trying to remedy just like you and started at 1/4 then went to 3/4 and kept going. Nothing worked. Dropped it an 8th and got it right. Minute changes make big differences.

What do you mean by carrier bearing flip? Mine is getting a little flutter at take off. I've got a junk pro comp 1.5 aal that I will be getting rid of for a leaf pack soon. Would like to know all my options of fixing this if it occurs when I install the leaf pack.

You gotta unbolt the carrier bearing and flip it 180 deg and rebolt. It's a hit or miss. I had small vibes at 0-7mph then at 55-60.

Thanks! I'll have to keep that in mind when I install my new leaf pack.
Not sure what I'm going with yet. My #1 priority is getting those pro comp struts and springs off the front this weekend and swapping them out with King coil overs and icon uca's. Too big of a hit on my wallet if I was to do the Kings front and rear at the same time. Wife would not be happy with me. Lol

I'll be damned. The vibe is not completely gone, but it is barely noticeable. Thanks to @tdcampbe the 1/8" washer greatly reduced my take off vibe. I put 100 miles on the truck today with a lot of stop and go. Funny how you can fall in love with your truck all over again once it drives like it should.

Great news man! Yeah I've got a buddy with a 6" lift I was talking to about the shutter before I fixed mine. He said he only dropped his about 1/4. That got me thinking... Glad it worked out for you.

Lol I finally fixed a rattling tailgate from a latch that wasn't closing all the way after weeks if not months of trying to figure out what it was. I like driving my truck more now than after any other mod I have made lol. Having a rattle free truck (besides typical low rpm manual transmission cab shudders) has made me more stoked on the truck than ever before!

I'll be lifting my truck about the same - 3" or less and I already plan on adding 3* shims to the axle. I'll keep in mind the subtle changes that can make vibrations appear or go away if I experience any after reading this and similar threads saying that little changes to the driveline can make big differences in terms of vibrations.
