I have an '03 Tacoma. It has 20,000 original miles. Mostly just sits in the garage. The check engine light came on. I bought one of those things that reads the computer and it said this. The guy at the auto part store told me it means I need a $99 sensor. What are the chances that replacing this sensor will fix my issue? Are these computer readers usually correct with their diagnoses? Anything else I should try before replacing the sensor?
    Thanks

    First off, welcome!
2nd, take the truck out and drive it .. lol .. it will cost you more money for it to sit than you will save.
    3rd, yes it's that simple.

    Good luck!

I concur with Large. Use the code reader to "clear all codes", assuming it has that feature. Then drive it.
The code might not come back. If the code returns, then that would confirm you have an issue to deal with.

    Good luck.

Could be as simple as the air filter.

Also id drive a full tank and get all the bad gas out of it.

Change the oil and all that good stuff too.

Cool truck though for being an 03 that's practically brand new.

Also, replace any exterior belts. They deteriorate with AGE, as well as mileage.

Look up TSB-eg020-05. There was a logic fault in the engine ECU that causes a false O2 sensor code. There is an updated ecu to possibly correct the condition. Check to make sure the repair was not previously performed though.
