Ok, so I start to smell burning oil when my kid pulls into the driveway in his 2000 PreRunner 2.7L. A quick look underneath, nada. When I peek at the rear of the valve cover gasket I can see it is leaking onto the exhaust manifold. I want to replace. What parts are suggested here? I want to have them all ready to go. Obviously I need the cover gasket, but else? The half-moons and the spark-plug hole seals? Anything else? Not interested in cutting corners. I just did plugs 6 months ago.

All the gaskets you need should come in the kit. It would be a good time to change the PCV valve as well if you haven't done that. You don't have to have anything else for the job except a socket set with a 10mm and a 12mm. The torque spec on the cover bolts is only 12 ft lbs, so don't over tighten them if you're not using a torque wrench to check.

Thanks. I ended up piecing the kit together with dealer parts. Came to about $40 all said. I will check into the pcv. Good idea.
