    Hi folks,

I'm a soon to be Tacoma owner from Winnipeg. My parents neighbour buys a new Tacoma every few years, once he can get a 2016 (hopefully next month) then I'll be picking it up for trade in value- very very excited.

It will be my wife's daily driver and eventually a baby hauler. I plan to use it on weekends for fishing trips, canoe and camping trips. The boat is not mine, but it's the only pic I could get.

A few questions, any idea what kind of cap that might be? I know it's a long shot from just a pic but maybe someone will know.

I plan to buy a set of black TRD Pro 4 Runner wheels. The best price I can find is: https://parts.olathetoyota.com/ppc.html?searchText=PTR20-35110-BK

Does anyone have any feed back on the company? I'd like to buy the TRD Pro grill as well as the OEM roof rack. I work in an office and am not very adventurous doing work on my cars myself, is the grill difficult to swap or,the roof rack to install?

I've been lurking for months looking at ideas. I think I've settled on 265/70/17 Duratracs. Any feed back? We get a ton of snow, the truck will likely see very limited off road use.

Thanks for the feedback. Excited to be a part of the group.

One can never have too many light bars.
Welcome. Grill comes off in about 5 minutes. All you have to do is remove the clips and pull forward. There's a few good youtube videos out there on it.

Duratracs are great, had mine for last winter. Got me through a TON more than those pathetic stock tires. Didn't get stuck on the ice while fishing for the first time in a few years haha..... Oh and I'm also from Winnipeg so I know how it can get!

First off, welcome to the wonderful world of TacomaWorld! I'm FAR from an expert (on anything) but that looks like my neighbors A.R.E. cap. If it is, you'll be just fine with it. Grills are a breeze to swap. I did one for a buddy about 2 weeks ago. (replaced broken stock grill with another stock grill) The entire swap took about 35 minutes including putting everything away when I was done. Sounds like you've picked a few relatively easy projects to start with. Just be aware that doing Tacoma mods is sort of a contagious disease! Once you start, who knows when (or IF) it will end! I'm running on 265/75/r16 Duratracs (C rated) I really like 'em, but they were a bear to get balanced. It took 3 attempts on a couple of them before I was satisfied. They would balance, but after 500 miles or so, I'd have to go back and have 'em re-done. They're up to 2000 miles now and seem to be staying in balance. That issue may have been as much the tech who was balancing them as it was the tires themselves.....But I have heard of others having issues with getting Duratracs balanced properly. All I can add to that is, once they were balanced, it was worth the trouble! They performed great in slick, sloppy mud when a group of us went camping a couple weekends ago. It rained on us after 3 weeks of dusty dry weather and the dust turned into slop. I hear tell Duratracs are superb snow tires. I purposely avoided load range E's in favor of the C range versions. Much lighter tire that doesn't hammer the gas mileage....

I hope you'll be as happy with your Tacoma as I am with the 4 of 'em I've owned. They aren't perfect, but I do believe they're the best truck in their class from ANY brand.

I've been happy with my Duratracs (C load). I'm from the peg originally too, get back there usually once a year to visit friends and family. Welcome to TW!
