Bought my Tacoma in Salt Lake City. I got the TRD Sport and stick was 36,700 I was able to get them to 36,109 but they were VERY staunch on price.

They did however, give me a lot more for my trade than I expected. Goes to show that there is definitely some wiggle room.

Also found out that not every truck comes with the tonneau cover, (Which is what they originally told me). Luckily, mine did. But they had 2 Sports come in and neither had the cover, they wanted to charge you more. Those both had MSRP of 35,588.

Let me know if any of you have questions! Good luck to all those hunting for a 2016! Hope you get an even better deal.

They are new for 2016, Toyota told me that the tunnel covers were standard on all 2016's but I guess not.

    He literally joined today.

I tend to wait for smartassery for after the first day. Tends to scare them away less.

What did you trade and what did they give you for it if you don't mind sharing?

Also, what options came on your Sport? Great looking truck! Enjoy!

How are they charging more on the two other sports without the tonneau cover?

Maybe other options? Not sure, but according to the 2016 Spec Book the tonneau covers are options on all trim models and not standard. Would've been a pretty sweet deal if they were all standard equipment.

If they cover came with every truck, then they would not list it as an "option". It is something that Toyota is adding during the build on a certain number of trucks. You can add one later. Based upon some of the pics in the other threads, you may want to consider an aftermarket version vs the one that comes from the factory.
