I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
2gen handles LC with trailer perfectly fine, 6000 lb. tows other things perfectly fine.
You know what's really asinine? Saying that truck which was rated by manufacturer, tested by goverment and approved by state to haul 6500lb can not handle 6000 lb.
Every vehicle can handle what was rated for. And that's a fact listed in vehicle registration. A need of full size to tow tiny trailer is opinion expressed by people who should not probably have driver license in a first place.

And you're posting this with the vast experience you've had towing with a 2016? It just sounds like you're hating to hate.. This post just sums it up.. I promise you, you're not the only person to have towed with the 4.0L, and not everyone would agree with you.. I've had a Land Cruiser too.. Those things are heavy as hell.. The 4.0L is a great engine, but don't come in here and make it sound like it's the second coming of GMs LS1... Reliable, no doubt.. but performance is nothing out of the ordinary.. Pretty much how the 3.5L will be.. Just another typical Toyota engine built for durability, not absolute performance.. Quit drinking your own Kool-aid and stop acting as if you seriously expected 1/2 ton numbers from a midsize. Only way that happens is if they add a diesel.. They didn't. Get over it. Move on...
