Yeah for vw of America, and the CEO of the United states.I agree It's not pretty. And yes it has had an immediate effect in the us. And yes the eu will pay the fine (they have the money)for the vehicles sold. It will probly be cheaper then a recall. But it will blow over.
Idk what hippies thought buying a diesel vehichle as being "green" lol .

It will bounce back. People will buy them once again for the same reasons they did before. Mpg, and 400k life time.

And now I need some French toast!

Trouble is they will have to pay the fine AND get vehicles fixed.

VW / Audi and now rumored BMW will either have to flash new software which will reduce performance in the vehicles and reduce their value significantly or install a urea system. Either way its going to be ugly.

I do know,They already have the urea system in them, and If they pay the fine the vehichles on the road won't need to be fixed.

I cant tell the future, I'm just saying the problem here in the U.S. isn't crippling to them. hell toyota can replace frames all day long, not once for one generation, and maybe not twice... We'll see if they learned anything this go around.

And I take some bacon with my French toast

I disagree, knowing a few Deezul (sp?) VW owners, it is a point of pride like owning a prius. Its who you are, not just a car etc. It will eventually but probably not to the same level. Also every TDI from 2009 has to go in to get the ECU flashed.

Trust me. Even if they pay a fine they have to get the vehicles fixed. I work in this industry

Amarok also has a weak front end. It's a common complaint made overseas, it's not a reliable truck per say compared to other international offerings. VW promised it in Canada years ago but it didn't hold up well in testing so no Amarok. My wifes best friends dad, yeah I know that's quite the path to follow :D, owns a VW dealer and on top of VW announcing it was coming there was even a few training events scheduled. Everything was shelved when the truck had issues during Canadian testing, but I don't know what the exact issue was. TBH the Amarok is actually bigger than a Hilux, Tacoma, or Ranger and it would of been interesting to see where it fit in North America.
