    So are Toyota's numbers different than the independents that have tested mpgs with and without covers? Every test I have seen shows no improvement and on some a slight decrease. I have had covers on 2 f150s and never noticed any diff.

    My theory is the older trucks did better with a cover. But the new trucks are more aero and all have the integrated tailgate spoiler, that has marginalized any gains from a top.
    But hell, what do I know. Plus, I may have had a beer or few. :D

    I was wondering the same thing.
    But then I remembered, every 3rd gen discussion turns to shit. :rolleyes:

    Still no 2016s at my local dealers yet.

    Don't know but that's the political reasoning for it. It may also be a marketing plow to show Toyota entering the tonneau market!
