It will help if you post details about your truck. What is the model year and drive train version?

Most, if not all models of Tacomas, do not have a single coil. For example, the v6 has 3 coil packs. Seems unlikely that all three failed all at once.

Sorry, my signature must not be showing. 1995 2.7 4cly engine.

I got the truck running by putting a new coil on it, but at roughly 2500rpms the truck starts missing badly. It will run/drive just fine until a certain point then it starts cutting out. I don't have time to fool with it this week as we are going on vacation so I took it to a good mechanic I know. I'll post up what he finds.

**I was guessing it might be the ignitor, cam/crank shaft sensor, but I don't know.** The plugs, wires, distributer cap, rotor button and now coil are all new**

    Update:

Mechanic never did figure out what the problem was, he thought it was the fuel pump but said he thought the pressure was good (never actually tested it). I thought the tps was bad so I put a Toyota one on it and that didn't fix it either. Went and got the truck last night hoping to find someone that can fix it, was looking over the engine and noticed the spark wire on #1 was seated so I pushed down on it and it popped. I thought yes I fixed it, but nope still the same miss at around 1/4 throttle. I'm hoping to take it autozone and see if they have a computer that will show real time diagnostics and see if any of the cyls has a miss fire. I'm going to try cleaning the MAF sensor and see if that helps. Any ideas would be great. Oh, and the truck isn't throwing any codes now so I have no leads on what to check.

Just to help I've replaced the following in the last 5months:

    -muffler
    -spark plugs
    -plug wires
    -distributor cap and rotor button
    -coil
    -battery
    -fuel filter
    -knock sensor
    -throttle position sensor

Truck is fixed ended up being a bad ECM/computer. Swapped one out of a 96 model and it ran smooth as silk no missing or CEL's.

Computer number is 89661-04050 for anyone needing one from a junk yard.
