Really?? That seems odd. I guess its a great idea they just didnt seem to be too functional for the purpose but then again i wasnt looking at it that way so ill have to look again this weekend when i open it up again. Thanks.

Did yours comes with thise bungees i mentioned to criss cross to assist in closing?

Yes, I have the bungees. Some folks complained that they put too much stress on the seams and caused leaks over time so they may have stopped including those. The tent still closed up fine without them, just takes a little more effort to tuck everything in

So.. theres a rip in my tent cover now.. :( i got it backing down something a little too short and i heard the material tear :(

So it's only a corner spot and im in need of possible resolutions.. Could like a seamstress just stitch it back together or what?

If it is a heavy PVC cover just order a patch for a big PVC based raft. Get some glue and slap it on there.

Or stitch it up and run seam sealer along the seam. You will need a hefty sewing machine though.

ditto - either a raft repair kit, a tent repair kit or a self inflating air pad repair kit. whatever more closely matched the cover materials

Gear Aid Tenacious huh? I'll look that up.

Will that work better for this repair?

Since it is right on the seam it may be better to see it. Any tailors or custom tent/canvas places around your area?

so on my mt shasta, the rails mount long ways which run from front to back of the truck. I have it on my packrack (see pics above) but its about half an inch too short to bolt it too the front most and rear most bars. I bolted it too the rear most and middle back rack bars. it still holds fine and I'm sure it won't be an issue, but for piece of mind id like better distribution of support. If I take the rails off and mount them sideways on the tent, they will stick off the ends of the tent a good ways and thats no good. If i cut the rails shorter to have them be the correct length, and then mount them sideways, can anyone forsee an issues i may have? I can't imagine it being an issue but I haven't had it long enough to really see the full outcome of doing this. Thanks
