    Hello all,
i just purchased an Apline ilx-007
is there a way to use the Stock Mic for the Phone with the radio or possibly mounting the supplied Mic in the stock (hidden) location of the overhead console? instead of having the aftermarket mic stuck to the headliner with the clip?

thanks in advance for the info/help

I wonder if there's a wire harness to make it work

I would think maybe track down the wire that goes from the mic to the radio and tap into it?

I searched this topic here a while back - if I remember correctly, the OEM microphone is a powered one and is extremely difficult to make work with aftermarket head units. probably best just to use the one that came with your head unit.

gosh.. where do I start, 18x9’s on 275-65 ridge grapplers. Bilsteins, clazzio leather, audio consists of stereo integrity, fosgate power amps, sundown audio, hybrid audio. Plus more...
Any aftermarket mic that I have used whether it's from my old kenwood or my current alpine, the people on the other end of the line complain about echoing. When I had the stock hi in, no one complained on speakerphone. anybody else have that problem.

had the same problem with my JVC unit mic in my previous 11' AC, thats why i would prefer to use the stock but it looks like there really is no quick solution, even crutchfield said use the mic from the new radio. bummer

Hey all, I found on the Tundra forum. I haven't tried it yet myself; I assume that if the wiring is the same it should work on the Tacos as well. If anyone tries this, please post the results.

I may try this; I hate using the mic that came with the aftermarket HU for the same reasons described in this thread.

    Thanks for posting this.
