Well, after a brutal 3 hours this weekend, I was able to grind and drill out 2 of the upper rivets on the pass side. Decided to abort the shackle flip for the time being cuz I wanted to get the new leafs on, u bolt flip and new bumps. I will come back to it, most likely when I have new longer shocks and it cools down, and that was a bitch of a couple hours with little progress..

Did we get this taken care of for you? We have new hardware for the HD shackles that will be shipping with all new sets and we will provide at no cost to anyone needing it for sets they've already got. This was an oversight in the time it took to get the production units ready that we changed the hardware, sorry for the mix up!

Finally got my flip installed and very happy with the results. The install wasn't fun and I had to take off my bumper to have enough clearance to install it but all that was expected. I used the rearmost holes for both the frame and the shackle and the Dakar's have a slight positive arch. My question after installing is would using a different set of holes give me more droop? As you can see from the picture I still have some travel left in the shocks that I'd like to be able to take advantage of.

To me it looks like you need to move the shackles forward 1 hole. at full droop the shackle should be at 90°, the drivers side should be flatter at full stuff. What angle are the shackles at ride height?

more or less, it also depends on the leaf springs you have.

A shackle should never be past vertical at full droop. The shackle could flip forward on you.
I would move the shackles one hole forward. That should give you a better ride and might free up a bit of travel.

Yes, I didn't measure but before I was pretty level now I sit about an inch or two taller in the rear.

Nothing like another late reply.... Sorry I don't get to get on the forums very much anymore.

Yep it looks like you should move the shackle one hole forward. The ideal shackle angle is about 40 degrees from vertical. My HD Dakars are setup in the middle hole on both the frame and shackle.
