I'm fixing to put 1 1/4 spacers on my wheels. Just to see what it was going to look like I put one on and as I have seen on nearly every pictures I've seen on TacomaWorld they've showed the nuts to hold the spacers on are only about half full of the studs. Sorry but that makes me very nervous! I've checked at a couple of places and cant find any longer studs, or place to even order them from. Has anyone put longer studs in and where did you get them from?

Yep, I had same issues and put longer studs. I got mine from this vendor's Ebay site: http://www.wheeladapter.com/wheel_studs.php . They were $50 for 24 studs and are about 53mm long. I see they raised the price a bit. I have since found out about Ichiba's studs: https://www.ichibausa.com/searchresults.asp?cat=956 priced $3 each and they have a 45mm and a 50mm. Also saw these 50mm on Amazon and are quite a deal at $19: http://www.amazon.com/EXTENDED-WHEEL-BOLTS-TOYOTA-M12X1-5X50/dp/B009OZ7T5Q . The OEM length is about 30mm. ARP's studs are $32 for a set of 5; they make very good bolts/studs but they are not priced/packaged with our needs in mind.

As Rock Lobster mentioned, there may be interference issues because the extended studs stick out of the adapter/spacer about 3/8 of an inch - for the 53mm I got from wheeladapter's. The OEM alum wheels happen to have depressions that allow for this protrusion; some aftermarket wheels may not. I'm curious to see if Ichiba's 45mm stud doesn't stick out. If I had to buy new ones again, I'd go with Ichiba's 45mm. They used to make a one-inch wheel adapter that I had on my Taco and were bullitproof, but it was too thin when I went with MT tires.

A good time to replace the studs is when you replace the wheel bearings. Otherwise, you'll need to drill a hole into the dust shield as I did. I used an air hammer with a sheared chisel to remove the studs; came out like butter.

I was just thinking about this today because I'm going to get 1.25 inch spacers here soon. There is a guy on here who sells the entire hub with new bearings and arp studs. Wonder how well that would work with spacers?

You shouldn't need longer studs to run spacers. They will come with their own lug nuts to install on the stock hub using the OEM studs, and then their own extended studs to mount the wheel onto them.

I speakth from experience: the OEM studs are not long enough to accommodate a 1.25" spacer/adapter; the spacer/adapter will take up a fair amount of threads on the OEM stud.
