I know that finding TRD sport hoods around here is like finding a needle in a hay stack so after searching high and low I finally found one. I talked my self out of it several times and when I found a 20% coupon code I bit the bullet and ordered it, after all I have wasted $112 before. Thats right I found a new aftermarket factory replacement for $112 shipped. I ordered the hood and within a week it was sitting on my doorstep. The box was in excellent condition and the packing was done as good as what I would have done. Upon unboxing it seemed to be in really good shape with the exception of the two corners that border the windshield which just so happens to be the two corners that were oriented to the bottom of the box. I talked to my guy that is going to paint it and he said he would fix them and not charge any extra, so just for shits and giggles I decided to contact the customer service department of the place where it was ordered from and to my surprise they offered a refund or a replacement. So needless to say if you are in the market for a TRD sport hood I recommend checking out autopartswarehouse.com. Now I am just waiting for the scoop trim to come in (which cost more than the hood) and she is off to paint. I will update as things come together.

For $112 that looks great...even if the trim is over $100 I still think its decent. I come from a car where almost any aftermarket hood is $800 or more, so under $300 is a steal in my mind.

Did the gaps all line up right? My experience with aftermarket hoods, even Goodmarks, is that they take an awful lot of work to get them to fit like an OEM. My original thought is that yours looks like a pretty good fit from the pics.

Yes it fit pretty darn good other than those corners that were in the op. I have heard stories about fit of aftermarket body parts especially non-capa parts and so far I am pleased. The paint guy was even mind blown when I showed it to him, he even went on to show me the prices he pays for the same thing through his suppliers.

As promised here are the photos of the finished product. I was pleased with the way it turned out.

    Final break down
    Hood-$112
    Trim-$114:eek:
    Paint-$375
    Total-$601
Not bad considering my local Toyota dealer quoted me $1600!

    Question about the painting.

Did they body shop blend the fenders or did they just paint the hood?

My wife has the same color truck and a tree limb smashed the hood. I am looking to replace the hood but am getting the run around with body shops who want to blend to the fenders. Its a 2015 and would prefer if they didn't touch the fenders. Also, they are getting crazy with numbers, 1300 to 1600 to replace and paint.

Didn't want them to spray my fenders either. So they just sprayed the hood and it turned out perfect!

I had an Infiniti with a green metallic paint and needed the trunk repainted. Took it to a high-volume shop and they wanted to blend the fenders, the bumper, and the rear roof pillars - basically the back half of the car. Took it to a high-end body shop and they were willing to paint the trunk lid only, and did such a great job I could never tell the surrounding panels weren't blended.
