    Thank you for the replies!
Revelations, you may be onto something with your remote start installed after the fact thought. I'm not the original owner and just bought the truck in the last couple of months. While I didn't think I had hit the remote key fob in any way, there is that possibility. It would make me feel a lot better about it if in fact there is that feature. My truck is at home right now and I'm not, but I'll check that out tonight.
Any ideas as to what sequence of events has to happen in order to activate the remote start using the key fob if the feature was added?
    Thanks again!

Can you post a pic of your fob? Any idea what model alarm you have, if you have one? My Viper 5706V's fob has the remote start button on the side of the fob. Not easily pressed, so you have to intentionally start it.

I don't have the fob with me, but I think it looks like the one below (found the pic online). As far as I know it's the one that came with the truck when it was new, but I don't know that for sure.

It's in cold weather mode, for places like Alaska where vehicles have to be started every few hours due to the extreme cold.
    Here's a guide I found online -
    SYMPTOMS
Remote start has been installed in the vehicle and it is starting all by itself either every 3 hours or every 24 hours
    CAUSE
The system has inadvertantly had "timer mode" turned on by either pressing the lock and unlock buttons simultaneously (3 hour timer mode) or by pressing the lock and remote start button simultaneously (24 hour timer mode).
    RESOLUTION
3 hour timer mode can be turned of by pressing the lock and unlock buttons simutaneously. This is the same procedure for turning the feature on. Additionally, entering the vehicle and shutting down the remote start by stepping on the bradk will also turn of 3 hour timer mode. 24 hour timer mode can only be turned off by pressing the lock and remote start buttons simultaneously. The same procedure for turning the feature on.
