I was wondering if anyone had any experience in pre-running with the Allpro standard leaf pack. I say mild in the title because I don't want to make my truck a complete pre-runner with LT and a cage but ill probably be taking the front mid travel set up ill have in the future to its limits. I know SUA is the best way to go but because of what I'm aiming for I don't think I necessarily need it. Also SUA is more expensive. Im also open to any other suggestions of springs, it seems like I've changed my mind about what I'm going to do with the rear 100 times already so I would like to figure something out eventually  Also I'm trying to get a set up that will get rid of axle wrap which is why I'm leaning towards Allpro. A 3" lift is the MAX I would want to put back there in fact I would prefer 1.5 or 2 but from what I've read, I think my All pro bumper and bestop will help keep it down a little bit. Thanks!

Love mine.......they soak up everything but you'll need a good shock valved to ur driving style. Get some 2.5" resi in the back and bolt on hydro bumps and the front end prob won't keep up at that point.

How long have you had yours on? Standard or expedition? And also did you actually end up with 3" in the back?

    Thanks!

They're the standards and I've had them for over 2 years. Bought from another member so they've been beat on for 4+ years and I have 2-3" lift out back. They're rusty and squeak but it's a truck so I don't mind. Honestly, shocks are what makes the difference. Get whatever high end brand you like (Icon, Fox, King) and deff look into compression adjusters. Icon has 2.5" with CDC and AP has 2.5" Fox with DSC which has seperate slow/high speed adjustments. With those you most likely wouldn't need a hydro bump just a poly one. I've got Fox 2" resi's with compression adjusters and superbumps (not the greatest for high speed) and I can haul through shit pretty fast.

Ok cool, ya I'll be putting 2.5 kings with adjusters all around. Have you noticed any axle wrap at all with them on? I seem to get it a lot stock so I really want to get rid of that also. It seems like they are pretty good with that because of the half leaf on there

They will pretty much eliminate axel wrap as theyre pretty stout....but the extra lift gave me a driveshaft thud when coming to a stop. I just put in a little drive shaft spacer and fixed 80% of it. I think I went with the OME one from Toytec as it was only $10-15.

There is really no need for 2.5's in the rear. It would probably be overkill for what the OP wants to do. Unless you want to spend the extra coin for 2.5's, then go for it OP. All you really need is 10" stroke 2.0 King's or Fox's/ w compression adjusters of your choice (I would suggest King adjusters) with 2.0 hydro King or Fox bumps with the shocks valved to .010 comp/.012 rebound and you should be very happy. I am currently running a 2.25" lift (using Deavers F85 1.5 AAL mini pack in the rear with the overload spring retained) with a setup similar to what I described above and it let's me go about as fast as I am comfortable with without any issues. Which is pretty damn fast in the sand and dirt. Think 50-65mph+.

Edit: Oh hey Griffinross! I didn't even notice this was your thread! Go with the King adjusters man. It's what I ended up going with, I receive them tomorrow, as well as the replacement shocks most likely. :) Thanks for the advice man. King's customer service was awesome!

You won't get rid of axle wrap with a leaf pack, it will help but it will still be there.

Hey man no problem! I think I'm pretty set on the 2.5s cause I'll be using them more for prerunning then crawling. Also all of kings OEM kits use 2.5s for the rear anyways.

Ahh. Ok ok. I gotcha. Watch for clearance issues. As I know some 2.5's have issues with rubbing on the spring pack at the body of the shock. Tell you the truth my 2.0's have handled everything I have thrown at them with ease. :)

Ya well see, Ill talk to some of my buddies at work but I know for sure the 2.5 king kit works because they wouldn't sell it if it didn't. I think that what I'm gonna do for my shocks at least.

Oh no, it's not that it does not work. I think if you start using a lot of travel out of them though the leaf springs can rub on the shock bodies themselves. (It might be a Deaver leaf spring problem because of where they place their pack retainers) I remember some of the Icon's were having issues with that, definitely some of the local dudes in my area were having issues. Just something to put out there so you know. :) King is #1 in my book.

If you want to stay spring over axle, all pro standard springs with a high end shock and decent bumpstops( hydro if u can). Valving well the standard 10/12 sure will work but your gunna want a lighter rebound and a stiffer compression to keep the rear from packing up as bad and bucking the shit out of you, I'd go with 15 compression and 8 for rebound. Hope this helps, my setup, all pro standard springs, flipped shackles, 12" King 2.0's and now sum 2" stroke King air bumps, I have that valving basically, and it was/is a solid mountain smashing setup. Now it can't quite keep up with the front(3.5LT) but you can go fast enough to have fun and not feel squirlly(real life 50-60mph) on pretty rough rutted wash boarded out roads

Could you post some pictures of your rear suspension? How do you like running the shackle flip with the all pros? About
How much did it give you in total? I just ordered the all pros to replace worn out deavers and I have been thinking about combining them with a shackle flip.
