Exactly right. For years that's all I did. 400 lbs of tube sand, studded snow tires and it handles great. The LSD is a great help too. You do need 4 wd as the snow gets too deep to push and you have to start climbing slippery hills. Even with 4 wd in winter, you need extra weight and winter tires. Any one says differently, they are the first to go in the ditch. No substitute for the right tires and traction weight.

I went 4 years with a 2wd ranger and studded snow tires in Michigan, not once did I ever get stuck on a normal winter day. Anything above 8-9 inches of snow is a crap shoot if you're going to get stuck, regardless if it's 2wd or 4wd.

It looks like it's the 16 prerunner. Thanks for the replies. The end OTD price is 31K for the Prerunner sport. The dealer says he mistakenly quoted this truck at that price, but would honor it. Don't know if he is serious or just playing the game. The 16 sport 4x4 is 36k so that's out the question.

The other dealership with the 15 won't sell and only wants to deal in 16s all the sudden says they can't get the 15 truck lol!

I want the 4x4 but at the end of the day it's not a necessity. No snow in Charleston, SC, no offloading, and if the prerunner can pull a small flats boat no problem.

Waiting on the paper work to review before I send the deposit.

Also the two other dealers I was talking with won't touch this price for the prerunner.

Either that 16 pre runnier or a 16 4x4... I think it would suck to drop 30 racks on a dated truck when the new ones just dropped

True if you don't have snow tires. Let's be serious though, we are discussing milder conditons for 2 wd. when conditions are over 8 inches to a foot, a Taco with snow tires And 4 wd will get you through and a 2 wd will not. I live on the side of a mountain and only 4 wd with snow tires can climb the hills in deep snow. But if you don't face these extreme conditions, it's a big waste of money......

New dealership across the street from me has agreed to $30,500 OTD for Silver TRD sport Prerunner. Going to review paper work tomorrow. Will update if legit.

Personally I would NEVER buy 1st year production. Go with the 15 4x4 and know there's a 10-year deep market of used and aftermarket parts available to you.
