I came in with the USAA Truecar price. I'd have to look at my paperwork for an exact number, but the sell price for me before all of the dealer fees and whatnot was right at $32k.

I am in Kennesaw/Marietta. Considering ordering a TRD OR. Would like manual but would settle for auto if the price was right. Approximately how much should I expect to pay off of MSRP by ordering? Are you guys paying the Toyota delivery fee and all the other extra nickel and dime stuff?

Bought a 2017 TRD 4wd access cab with V6 for $31,724 and no dealer fees out of Canton. Dealer was $2K less than other dealers that I had contacted.

Georgia is in SET. I recommend going outside of SET for a better deal and buying experience. I'm in Alabama and went to Tennessee to get mine.

SET blows unless you want what they think you need.

It would be worth your time to contact Chattanooga or even Knoxville internet sales.

Don't ignore trying via Costco either.

Financially speaking, are there better deals in Tennessee? I have no problem driving to Chattanooga if it is worth the time in saved money.

Currently looking for a TRD OR manual. A double cab Auto might be ok if the price is right.

Why would you spend north of 30k on a vehicle, that you order (not just on hand inventory) and 'settle' on your choice of transmission?

I mean if there was an auto TRD OR that they were really trying to get rid of, I would be open minded to that.... The dealers here in Cobb County are asking like 36-37k sticker for TRD OR double cabs with all of the little pin stripe/rust proofing/phone charging add-ons. Plus the Toyota delivery fee.... Suprisingly they have some TRD ORs for 40k!

What you describe is the problem with SET. (South East Toyota)

Use the internet. But don't talk to TW, talk to Tenn dealers. We don't make the deals. They do.

    Good luck shopping!

Shit. You think SET is bad...
I got my OR in SET (in Georgia) for almost $4k less than what they wanted to sell me an SR5 for in Gulf States. And I was able to get a manual like I really wanted.

    I'm in the same area.

I did a LOT of shopping around, ending up pitting Rick Hendricks Toyota against Nalley Toyota. The best deal I could get was $32k OTD for a SR 4x4 DCSB with keyless entry. The best offer I found for a SR5 trim was around $36k, and they wanted 40k for a Limited. All of those are OTD, tax and dealer BS included.

SET is terrible, just as @Clearwater Bill was saying. There's little room for negotiation, and none if you're ordering one instead of buying something sitting on the lot.

I ended up finding the exact truck I wanted from Toyota of McDonough. I used the description and this thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/3rd-gen-tacoma-model-package-option-costs-master-list.388345/ to calculate their at-cost, added TTL, and sent the internet sales an offer and settled at $34k for a SR5 DCLB 4x4 out the door. The MSRP on the truck was $38,736.

I talked a lot to the dealership while I was waiting on paperwork. Apparently they finance all new trucks from Toyota to the dealership using SunTrust. If the truck sits longer than 6 weeks, they have to pay interest on the finance for the truck. The truck I bought had been on the lot for more than 6 weeks, hence them willing to move.

My long-winded point: You can get a deal if you're willing to wait or walk away. Don't deal with dealer bullshit. They're there to serve you. They act like they're doing you favors, but it is a part of the transaction. If they're not delivering, tell them sorry, I will take my business elsewhere, and do so.

Yes, absolutely. SET has a handful of add-on things that they do at their ports that in most cases they will not let you opt out of. And I'm not talking about $50... thousands of dollars worth of crap that you pretty much can't avoid. Get out of SET and all of that garbage simply disappears and everything is simple and straight forward. All the numbers should line up with this chart and the goal is to get as close to invoice as you can. Anything past that is icing on the cake and you may or may not be able to talk them into it.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/3rd-gen-tacoma-model-package-option-costs-master-list.388345/

I contacted 4 different dealerships in Alabama getting nearly identical results before emailing a dealership in Tennessee. Getting out of SET was a breath of fresh air and I got exactly what I wanted for the price I wanted to pay - thousands less than any SET dealership even considered.

GST is same type deal as SET. They stick their own garbage on top and expect you to pay for it even if you don't want it.
