The passenger side mirror in my '04 DC wobbles and I cannot figure out how to fix it. It is not the side mirror assembly but the mirror itself inside of the housing. It's semi-subtle until you look at the driver's side mirror and realize how steady it is.

I did a quick cursory search of the forum and Google and didn't find what I needed. Has this occurred to anyone else and does anyone know of a fix? I'd like to think that I don't need to replace it or take it to the dealer but who knows...

It's lose and needs to be replaced. I can't imagine them being expensive, but since you're talking about a stealership...

Just know this: The 3 phillips head screws on the bottom of the housing are held in with loc-tite. You will need to heat them up in order get them out. I stripped 2 and snapped one before I knew this little tid bit of info.

My driver's side mirror has a little wobble when I'm on the highway. Not a priority but mildly annoying. Does seem like the sort of thing that could be tightened somehow (if you could get to where it's loose?)

"I am not sure if this is the right subreddit to post in. Tacoma is not my first language so bear with me on format. This happened to my 'friend' when he was like, 8 or 10 or 30 years old, or something, and he has the same issue on drivers side. Its b/c he once went to visit at an apt. complex in a very messed up state and hooked the gate key pad INSIDE the door then proceeded to drive the f in the gate while trailing the whole steel key pad assembly.

The only reason I know this is because the apt manager called him two days later and he called my other 'friend' and they had it all on video. cost $800.00 to the apt complex and agreement not to press charges. The key pad assembly ripped the mirror down and off, the inside door plastic panel was gouged and the inner sheet metal was crumpled. My 'friend' re-attached the mirror by installing new bolts in electric mirror, heated up some crumpled foil to blend in interior plastic gouge and then drilled pull holes into sheet metal to straighten steel out. Its not perfect but hardly noticeable now.

The mirror was popped out and just popped back in the actuator. It vibrates like hell for the last 10 years. Cheap end result for something that could have ended up as even more expensive knowledge. Uber would have been useful that night. Dear creepy key pads that come out of nowhere in drunk nights, like,...Lets not ever meet again. /r/Letsnotmeet"
