If it were me, I would get an aftermarket product. Hell, I would even pimp my truck out to a local fabricator to take measurements (they will often give you the first run of the product for free. :D). I have had OEM steps on my truck that didn't last for shit, had an aftermarket step that didn't last for shit, finally got a set of SOS Concepts sliders that will last longer than the truck.
If I were to do it again, I would have just gone right to the sliders from day one!
    Good luck.

I read the SOS thread which is current and I didn't see any mention of third gen. Are we sure the bolt on's fit the 16? Also there are not painted or powder coated options? I am not a painter, how hard are they to do with the bed liner stuff?

^^^ I can't comment on the 16' fit, but there are a couple good threads on prepping, priming and rattle-can painting the SOS sliders, or LineX coating them. I think I'm going to LineX mine, that should be arriving soon.

These are the stainless steps that come on a Tacoma that is ordered from a Gulf State Distributor dealer. These steps are closer to the cab than the Westin steps I have on my Gen2 truck

I like the stock tube steps. They are aluminum, so I'm not worried about corrosion. I'll going with the chrome.

I called the dealer this week and asked about accessories including nerf bars. The guy was quoting some ridiculous prices way higher than the factory version.

Quick question for you all. I am fairly handy. Do my own brakes, rotors, etc. Are the nerf bars truly just something you bolt on with no modifications? When you buy aftermarket, they give you all of the appropriate hardware?

I watched some youtube install videos last night for the nerf bars and also the front bull bar. Install seemed easy enough to where the dealer is going to be disappointed to see me ride away without any dealer installed modifications.

That being said, which brand of nerf bars (tube steps) and bull bars does everyone recommend? Would prefer one that does not require any additional drilling and also corrosion proof. I am going to get black not chrome. I checked out Westin and that seems ok, just would like feedback from others. Thanks

I have Westin ones on my 2014, they fit well, look good and were easy to install. Autoanything usually has sales going on and free shipping. Way cheaper than oem. I like the raptor bars but hate the price

Yeah I only want to spend up to $200. I'm debating on black on my MGM or chrome. I live out in country in Texas and maybe looking towards chrome. It will match the rear chrome bumper. I would like a full front protection bumper, but in blk.

That video was a waste of life lol. Those steps look damn near identical to my Westin ones, probably double the price tho if I recall correctly
