    Hey everyone,

I like aftermarket air intake/filter because the open things up and give a great sound. However don't confuse this sound with real power addition. I run K&N on my machines that run on the street- less comfortable running oil filters in the dirt. my .02 cents.

There are some threads hitting this question, you might want to search for. Definitely some opinions and conflicting data on what. You will find two primary camps - stick with OEM or Aftermarket. Most of the discussion surrounds paper filters vs. oiled filters and the amount of dirt allowed into the motor. I have a K&N, but am researching it deeper after reading anumber of opionions here. K&N, of course, denies any problem - which may or not be true.

Congrats on the '15 - have one myself. Love it.

My main objective is to not have the engine struggle to get air. And it sounds better

I guess struggle is the wrong word to use. But a boxed up filter does do less work then a filter in an open space...and it'll look damn good. So, no to trd?

All good things said here. I went with Volant with scoop. 1.5 avg. mpg gain.

i went with volant with scoop but also added unichip (mapped with mods). It is completely different driving experience now. Enhanced acceleration and overall quickness.

for me the biggest thing was that it doesnt pull air in from the engine it brings it from a protected area in the wheel well so that you get a little more performance with the colder air. mine is running the trd and I enjoy it.

yeah mine is all flashy i guess it says trd but i didnt know if it was just trd or a CAI. If the stock is the same thing then wouldnt that be considered a CAI as well because it brings in outside air and uses a closed system?

I understand the looks difference but is there any real performance benefits? shorter intake route less baffles that seems like thats about it. is the trd considered a CAI? if so is it a true CAI?
