I hate hearing my mud flaps scrape on inclines and rocks etc.

Will 1st Gen mud flaps be a direct bolt on?

I just took a tool to them and cut them shorter and rounded the corners kinda like stock cut them just below the 4X4 symbol

I took mine off and tossed 'em in the pile with the OTHER 4 sets of Toyota mudflaps I have in a big box in the garage attic. I do NOT like the looks of 'em. Next day, I couldn't take my eyes off the marks they left on my fender flairs. So.....I climbed back in the attic and got 'em out again. But they didn't go straight back on the truck. I took a pair of bull nose metal masters (tin snips) and cut 4" off each one. That's just above the cheezy 4X4 on the rears. I used the piece that came off to mark the radiused corners on the remainder. After that, a piece of 80 grit drywall sandpaper to clean up any sharp edges, put them back on, and try to just live with the fact I liked the look FAR more when they weren't there. They are a lot less conspicuous now. One of these days they'll go back in the box again. Once my Duratracs wear out, this truck is going to be rolling around on 35"'s of some sort.
