So I've done quite a few searches and haven't found a consistent answer, so here's my issue. I recently got my tranny flushed and since then when ever i come to a hard unexpected stop the truck kicks forward violently enough that i look back because i think i'm being rear ended. This happens after i have completed the stop and when I start to alleviate pressure from the brake pedal. I am also getting a jerking when i am slowing down in first gear and go to get back on the throttle, the truck jumps. This does not happen every time maybe once every 15-20 stops and more likely to happen when i am traveling at a faster speed prior to stopping.

From what i have read some people believe the zerk joints and drive shaft need lubrication, others have mentioned axle wrap although it doesn't sound like that description. I am wondering what it is and why is this happening after a tranny flush and not before.

    thanks tacoma world!

Sounds like a torque converter locking/unlocking...

    Check your fluid level.

I'd definitely be taking it back to the shop that did it, first thought is torque converter as well.

Hopefully it was the dealership that did it and not a quick lube place. Tranny flushes are only something I would let the delaership perform, much different than the drain, replace filter and fill.

Could be low, over filled, contaminates dislodged from a cleansing additive during the flush or even the wrong fluid type. Drfinitely something to get checked out sooner rather than latter.

lol I didnt even realize what i wrote. I ended up PMing a guy who had the same issue and it seems that everyone agrees it is symptoms of low fluid. Im taking it to the shop that did the flush tomorrow and they're going to check the fluid level for me. I avoided the dealership and quick lube shops and went to a reputable motor shop in town that always is straight with me. I'll let you guys know how it goes and THANKYOU ALL for the quick responses!!!:yay:

Jury is out on a "flush" with a machine. Did he use oem fluid or a WS rated fluid? Some claim that the machine stirs up sediment in the tranny and plugs stuff up. I disconnect the return line and do the catch 4 add 4 trick. Then you have to stand on one foot and use a secret decoder wheel to check the fluid. Lots of witchcraft and black magic involved. Seems like most dealers f it up. Good luck

It's not your trans'. I've had over 1000 trucks come in for this issue. Grease EVERY fitting on the drive shafts. Check the ones in the u joints as well. Everyone runs them dry and your truck starts jerking.

Start from the back, go all the way to the front. There's more than you think. They all need grease. Don't get crazy with it but give them love.

Just to confirm, there are 5 on a 4x4 correct? 1 a rear diff, carrier bearing, transfer case on the rear and 1 at each end of the front driveshaft.

5 on ours, 8 I believe on the older Yotas. Unless you got funky aftermarket junk with more.
