Toyota Trucks' popularity is still amazing.

All details and number references here from TorqueNews, with an exclusive comment from Toyota rep.

"In its first month of sales, the 2016 Toyota Tacoma mixed with remaining 2015 Tacoma inventory beat the combined sales of the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon. With 11,165 units sold, the Tacoma outpaced the Colorado (7,334) and Canyon (2,332). GM’s mid-size truck sales are leveled off at their full production capacity. Nissan’s Frontier is falling further behind, with sales down 32% over last year at just 4,617 units."

Meh, that is a pretty weak month for Toyota historically, but speaks to how people hate the Frontier and are starting to warm to the Colorado.

They said sales were expected to be down because of switching from 15 to 16 and manufacturing issues.

I think the usual average for Tacoma sales is around 10,000 a month.

I think last month they hit 17 000 because people were trying to get 2015 before production stops. Dealer near me haven't sold a single 2016 yet.
