My 98 came stock with foldable mirrors are they're very tough and haven't broken while rubbing against trees and deep washouts

Look for some Toyota ones either from a Tacoma or 4runner?

Get the beefy 01-04 Folding and power mirrors. That's what I have. I really like them compared to the 95-00.

If you can make a jeep mirror fit and make it look good, I say do that. That's a unique and cool idea.

I believe that the 01-04 TRD models had the foldable (and larger) mirrors. Very desireable. I bought a couple and put them (non-electric) on my '99.

Working with a local fabricator to build some off road mirrors for the first gens. He wants to build a tough low profile mirror using easy to source off the shelf glass that's easy to replace.

Sub'd, I'll post up any prototypes as we have some time to get my truck into the shop

I would only see it being worth the time and money if they were to mount on the body and not the door and you were gona run tube doors. Tbh your truck doesnt look like a serious offroader or anything so i say folding mirrors would be fine for you.

I've swapped these ones off the 01-04 onto my 99, the ones from 95-00 do fold, but the ones I pictured break away and have positive stops, the stock ones I had sucked, they loosened up over time and got blown in by the wind on the freeway, plus every time somebody bumped them in a parking lot I was readjusting them. I never wired the 01-04 ones for power, just push the mirror lense into place inside the housing and it works great, plus there's like 2 times the viewing area and they're a direct swap, I wouldn't put anything from a heap on my truck personally

Make sure they fit before ordering them, I don't know exactly what truck you have.

The 01-04 TRD mirrors will fit, but they attach with 3 nuts, rather than 3 bolts. Thats the reason that the online databases will claim that they don't fit.

Did you really use a self tapping screw to hold the broken mirror on?
