Hey everyone I just was wondering if you all have a gap towards the center of the tailgate. Not sure if this is by design or not...image.jpg

Throw a straight edge across your tailgate when its down to see if its bent. Should be flat. Lots of bent ones out there though

Holy shit, there's a gap between the bed and the tailgate! What am I ever gonna do???? Alright, all asshole aside, it appears that you have a slight bend in the tailgate which is creating the gap. My tailgate is bent as well, but it doesn't effect its capabilities for my uses. If you're placing heaving loads or hauling moto's/atv's, I'd probably reinforce it with some steel. Considering new tailgates are anywhere from $500-$1000, I wouldn't purchase a BRAND NEW one.

2015 one month old no gap all the way across. But I imagine in time there will be a gap from what everyone on here seems to say.

The gap on mine is much smaller but I filled the space with some auto/marine seal tape. Keeps dust/water off of my stuff.

If you add the Relentless tailgate reinforcement and reinstall the plastic over it, there will be no gap. Plus you have a sturdy tailgate that feels the way a tailgate should weight wise.

Lmao!!! Thanks guys. It was just a curiousity question more than anything. I don't do many heavy loads, just camping gear and basic hauling. I am thinking I bought it like that.
