Agreed. Here is my '93 I will always regret selling a couple years ago. Made the mistake of thinking that I wanted another 4Runner. I love the simplicity, and the fact that it looks like a damn truck. The 2012-2015 Tacoma front end looks like a derivative of the 92-95 pickups, and that is why I think it won't look dated for a very long time.

After having a V8 4Runner, I think Toyota is missing the mark by not putting that engine into the Tacoma. It doesn't need to be the 5.7L from the Tundra, an updated 4.7L or the 4.6L out of the lexus gx460 would do just fine. Hello 300hp and 330ft-lbs of torque, and mpg pretty similar to the 4.0 V6. If they would have done that for the 2016, I'd have dealt with the ugly face.

 

... ^^^ ... I have front & rear mounted cameras (not a Go-Pro) hard wired to a SSSD for that reason (crazy people talking on cell phones & walking out in front of me).

I have caught a lot of other things too. Once you start using vehicle cameras, you are hooked and won't stop.

I hated the looks of the truck from pics. Today I stopped by Claremont Toyota and the truck in person looks much nicer. The front is ok but the rear looks nice.

Only incentive for me to every swap my 2012 is the high resale value of Tacoma in general and the itch to get new truck.

What octane does the 2016 use?
