a LOT of roads washed out that day  Nellis blvd took a lot of damage. Almost didn't get home that afternoon. Sister was visiting and we were at the mall. Saw the clouds and beat feet home. Couldn't go up the one road due to flooding, but managed to get up the other road. 6830 Soldella Dr

Lots of rain here so far. Not 23 inches! But steady wet since yesterday. They're calling for another wet one today.

I lived in an apartment building in 1972 when Hurricane Agnes came through my area. We were close enough to the river that the first floor of the building flooded. Fortunately we were on the second floor. I spent the summer in Wilkes Barre running a Ditch Witch for an outfit that was putting in trailers for flooded out residents there. That whole town got flooded out. There was a cemetery on a curve in the river; the water pushed through the curve and under the cemetery. Caskets, bodies, you name it, all came up and out. Months later the trees in that area were still covered in silk from the casket linings.

Hurricane Agnes brought water into my parents back yard from a creek about 1/3rd a mile away.

Stay dry and warm today Susan. I am off in the rain to an Eagle Scout project that I wish was cancelled. I am hoping it still will be cancelled for today.

Not much rain in the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia and the latest hurricane is going to pass south of us out to sea.

Sad story: A young man drowned his pregnant wife and kids going through an underpass down by the strip.
I have been back a couple years ago and did not recognize the place. Job had me going up to the test site.
Was a hard place to get on and off. I told people my job was so secret that I didn't know what it was I was doing.:alien:

A lot of people drown all over due to stupidity... driving through flooded roads  I haven't been back in years and I've seen a few pics and it's all changed. All the hotels are different....

Evening all. Had 5 inches of rain the other day. Ok at our place. Portland got flooded out. Had 3 cars come in on the hook. All totaled.
Worked today but had a chance to FF the truck and oil and filter and rotate and set up for winter. One down, two to go. Boat gets fogged tomorrow. Plants get pulled. Fresh topsoil goes in the boxes and mixed. Need to order a few snow blower parts. It has begun.

    Morning all:
    Looks good Mike!

How you doing down there Sue, hopefully high and dry!
Looks like it stayed East of us, even the Delaware River where we fish for walleyes didn't rise too much.

:woot: for getting work done on your truck

    High but not so dry

Thankfully that's as deep as my water will get - runs off down to the front yard/street. Have had 12"+ of rain so far. Rain gage was full when I got up, so don't know exactly how much I have had. Waded out and emptied them. Dogs would not go out in it. we don't get any high winds - otherwise I could lose some trees.

there were folks last night saying the weather guys had over hyped the storm because they hadn't gotten much..... hope they are flooded out now. Not really, but would serve them right

    Good to hear Sue.
I don't think they over hyped the storm judging by some of the pics. on the news.

Have to love the arm chair quarterbacks that don't consider that maybe they got off easy, instead of saying it was blown out of proportion. Just like after Sandy hit NY, other folks were saying it was no big deal

Thanks Rob. Me, too. Can't use any water at the moment :annoyed::rant:
