All this O2 sensors talk got me wondering... Anybody know if I would get an check engine light or any other problems if I did a CAT delete?

I get a code at random times. 1-4 months apart. I just clear it and go on with my day

You would be a very bad man for making Ed Begley Jr cry.

Also a P0420 for sure, can be rectified with a O2 simulator. Possible EGR related issues from lack of back pressure.

My truck got another leaky rear seal, replaced the other one years ago so the other side was due to die at some point lol. Last time we went through like 4 seals because they don't have to greatest design to install and they kept bending. This time to make it easier we ordered this: http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/special-fit-eco-seal.html

Now I'm a bit confused, anyone have experience with these? It says it fits my truck but it won't go past the outer edge of the axle housing. Of course Low Range is closed today for an event so couldn't call them.

What do you mean wont go past housing? Says in description the outer lip sits flush with housing. Also that it wont fit if you have ABS if you do

Do you have a seal driver? Might save a lot of bent seals if you don't.

Well then, just do an EGR delete at the same time. LOL. P0420 is not a big deal for me.

I swapped my rear 5100's shaft down, and noticed an immediate difference in the ride. Seems to be a tad softer and a bit more responsive.

My old one sits about 3 inches down inside the housing. I don't see where it says the outer lip sits flush with the housing, all I see is that the seal sits parallel with the housing, like my old one did as well. I don't have ABS but you can see that it has the ABS gear on the axle, and it came that way from the factory.

    Old seal

    No ABS

You can see it has the gear for the ABS

This is as far as the new seal goes, you can see the old seal still in the back.

We used one last time and it still got all fubarred lol

Yes. I was running without a front cat for a year. I ended up putting on a sim that lasted a month before a code came back on.

Looks like your truck has the abs housing and gear and its just been plugged. Ive seen a non abs one before and the seal sat flush and no gear on the axle. It was 2.7 4x4.

The new seal is SUPPOSED to be flush with the lip of the housing. The 'old seal' (3-inches into the housing) was INSTALLED INCORRECTLY. No wonder ICEHORSE has been having problems.

Looks like you have an abs axle, my seal sits flush with the edge. Didn't you get a new/replacement axle a while back?

I think hers does ride inside, I don't see how a seal will get over that abs gear.
Mine rides on the edge, and seals against the largest portion of the shaft, near the bearing.

Even though her truck is non abs, the axle is. She has the wrong seal for that axle, I'm guessing..:notsure:

I was thinking the same thing but I never changed one. And her axle housing looks like a capped off ABS axle housing. So she might need a seal for a ABS shaft. I don't know if they are different.
