    Hey guys,

I've recently imported a 2002 tacoma 4WD TRD Xcab from the states and the feds here request a federal inspection before I can get tags. The inspection itself is a joke, but theres one thing that concerns me is that it has a 2 inch lift with the OLD MAN emu. The federal inspections form clearly states that the a truck cannot have a lift kit on it or else it will be inadmissable to Canada. If they do find that its inadmissable I have to bring it back to the states which I do not want to do. They won't even let you change it back to origina stock OEM! When I look at my truck I dont see much difference in the lift but I don't want to take the chance and risk it. They do the federal inspection at Canadian Tire which is also a joke but the feds here have a contract with them. So my question is should I change the shocks and struts before the inspection or should I just leave it the way it is? I really dont want to take off the lift kit it has, but if I have to I will.

    Thanks in advance.

Here's a peak of the truck right now.

5100's all the way around, OME 880's and AAL, BF's 265/75R16. Switched beds from Stepside to Fleetside
Others will know here, but check out what the definition by law is for a lift kit. OME is more or a suspension upgrade than a conventional lift. You'll be fine I'd imagine. But again, relies on legal definition of "Lift Kit" from what you state.

I honestly want to keep them on and save some money cuz they are in good condition. I did end up taking it to the shop and getting new suspension system

I'd paint the socks black so you can't see they are aftermarket

So, you ask what to do about the OME suspension (not a lift), and then replace the suspension all in the same day?

You do know that you were taking it to Cambodian Tire? I think you jumped the gun, but it is a nice truck.

Pass the inspection, plate it, then put the OME back on it!
