VIN - Recalls on 1Gens

Hey TW. Is there any way we can see if any of the recalls have already been performed on our trucks?

I went to Toyota.com and typed in my vin, and it only came up with the spare tire carrier recall.

When I recently bought my truck, I only bought it because I was pretty sure the frame was new from the frame recall.

Is there any way I can double check my theory?

Hm. The only thing that came up was an oil change from previous owner. I swear it has to have a new frame. There's chalk marks from when they replaced it.

Another weird thing. This message pops up about some sort of 2001 floor mats recall. However when I click on it, it says I only have that spare tire carrier recall.

 

Well hey, look on the bright side, if your frame is good enough to look new than you're doing alright lol. This is mine after only 2 years.... I just spent about 3 hours prepping and POR15ing the thing. Still have to do the other side tomorrow. My spare tire carrier is screwed too, I may need to get that done sooner than later.

 

Same results here. Been wondering the same thing about mine and have been putting it off for a while (about the frame). I also have a white mark that doesn't seem to come off. I saw this on the frame and always wondered what it was from:

Anyone got any input regarding that mark (^^^) on the side of my frame? Does it look like yours OP?

 

Did you run a CARFAX on it? I've seen some dealers will make a submission for even tiny things such as oil changes performed, so I'd hope any dealer that might have replaced or coated a frame would have also submitted that, too?

 

Checked frame. It has exact same marking. I'll take a picture tomorrow.

 

The service department at my local dealership was able to tell me of the completed recalls on my truck when provided with the vin.

 

Is that info stored nationwide? Or only at that specific dealer?

 

I'm assuming it would be nationwide as that dealership had never worked on my truck before.

 

Cool I'll have to give them a call and see! Maybe get me a printout of that if they can do that. Would like to have those records, just cuz.

 

Hmm same spot too. Well maybe that's their mark then! Don't have any numbers on mine though. Wonder what that means. Maybe labor time?
