That's what I thought, concentrate the heat on the spindle and weld away!

I've done 5 sets soo far with various gusset kits on 2nd gens, not a single one has had a problem

    I guess a blanket statement isn't fair.

my 1974 Toyota Hilux had forged spindles, I remember reading this, never actually welded to the spindle of this truck
Toyota Pick ups have Forged spindles
1st gen prerunner/4wd Tacomas have forged spindles
2nd gen prerunner/4wd Tacomas have forged spindles

That is my A-arm toyota truck knowledge, can't really speak to straight axle or 5 lug taco trucks but I'd imagine they would be the same...

True. Not like they are beefy spindles anyways.

I have 5 on mine. Went all over Barstow at roughly 25 PSI and zero issues. Balanced them using the airsoft bb method (google it). For $200 a tire, they're amazing. I don't dd the truck, but still use it for errands and stuff around town when I feel like it. I think the only problem with them is that it looks like the new tread is a very soft rubber compound so they'll probably wear out fast enough. That being said, I'd rather thrash a $200 retread instead of a $300+ BFG, goodyear, toyo, etc.

    I'm strangely aroused right now.

Did you see the toytec long travel 4runner there. I helped out with the rear end of it. Just more of a learning experience.

Edit. This is it. Credit goes to Insain Fab.

I didn't get to go, but I heard Campbell's car was there and would really like to see it in person sometime. That's the ultimate LT4x4 porn.

Ok I've searched all over for answers but haven't found anything. Are there any benefits to cutting the louvers out on my bedsides? I have no idea what their function is. I have McNeil TT bedsides.

That's what I thought. It's an option on all the makers sites to have them pre cut out but there's no explanation as to why they would be cut. I know hood louvers are for free flowing air through the engine compartment to help cool it, I could only see the bedsides to be cut to help keep the shocks and bypasses cooler but i dont know.

It's coming along, doing some more bracing on bedside supports today and paint. 3 link fab starting next week.
