So if we all ready replaced the crappy factory springs with after market springs is there any chance we will get a check for the difference?

Some people have been reimbursed. From what I've read it's not always 100% of the time. Took me several calls to Toyota Corporate before to get them to replace my springs ASAP.

I just got the frame replaced last week and 'new' leaf springs.....

The leaf springs they took out - were the 3+1 TSB springs that I've had installed since November 2007. Those TSB leafs were awesome. Gave my truck 1" rake in the back and I've hauled some heavy ass loads, especially this past year.

These new springs? They are 3+1....but.... these things aren't nearly as good as the TSB springs were. I lost the rake - I'm sitting level / flat now. We picked up a Cub Cadet snow blower today. I don't know how much this thing weighs (not enough) but I was surprised to see the suspension sag from it. That's rather disappointing.

What's the difference between TSB and the newer 3+1 leaf pack that came standard after 2012? I thought this was the same?

Has anybody successfully upgraded to aftermarket leaf springs like dakar/deaver/expo and got Toyota to foot the bill in full or part? How did you do it?

I don't know what the difference is..... and/or I don't know what springs anyone would have. Obviously.....Even if you have 3+1, doesn't necessarily mean they're all the same.
They could easily be 3+1 and have totally different spring rates.

All I know is...the TSB 3+1 springs I got installed in 2007 is NOT the same springs as what they're installing today

I really hope the new springs are at least a 3+1 pack. My 2009 TRD Sport 4x4 never had the TSB completed so I'm still rocking (or should I say drooping) on the 3 leaf packs...

About 6 or 8 months ago I bought some less than 5k 2012 4 leaf packs for my 08 reg cab and unless there is some miracle difference between those and whatever these recall ones will be, I will just be filling out a reimbursement form. I might take the parts if offered but dealership will not be working on my truck............

I got a detailed paypal statement that has leafs listed in the notes and a bank statement that also shows the transaction. If printed out = RECEIPT. Whether or not they honor that might be the question and honor isn't something very prevalent in this industry of late so not really counting on it. But why not? It'd be less to reimburse than if I had gone and bought something else "new" to replace the sad ass excuse for leafs they have been throwing on these trucks for better part of 10 yrs. Just their time to actually swap them would cost more than what my used set cost. Also will cost them less than if I just say fuck it and make them put new ones on it in place of the ones I have now for being dicks about it. Depends on how they wanna play......will be easier & less expensive for them just to reimburse me.

Got the new springs put on my truck on Monday. Dealership got permission from Toyota Corporate to put them on prior to the 2016 rollout stated in the latest recall letter. Springs are a huge improvement. Axle wrap is greatly reduced, but not entirely eliminated. That being said I don't have much to compare them to. When I bought my 2005 Tacoma last year the springs were worn out, and they got progressively worse over the last year and a half. If I had driven a Tacoma with Deaver, Alcan, All Pro, etc. springs in the past I would have something to compare them to.

Glad to see it's a 3+1 pack. I don't suppose you ever saw the bill for this? Would be interesting for rreimbursement purposes.
I'd really love to go aftermarket on Toyota's dime

The paperwork I signed didn't have any dollar amounts on it. Toyota has reimbursed people for aftermarket spring purchases from what I've read, you might get them to pay.

I'd be interested in the part numbers painted on them to compare to my 2012 3+1 packs I bought from another member.
