    Hey everyone, I am new to TW and wanted to see what everyone suggested for best air intakes for best hp and all around best for the truck. She's a 2008 Trd Sport, SR5, 4x4.

    Intake shouldn't effect mpg........... Stock, afe stage 2si, work great...... K&N uses oil and may cause maf issues...... Urd is OK but I had two that leaked around the maf seat...... Volant is iffy.... Some of the older ones ran lean.

    OP - I put a K&N Intake on mine. ONLY change is that now the engine is noisy.

    The best thing you can do for gas mileage is go with different tires. When I put BFG AT's on I lost about 2 mpg. Light weight tires will save more than any air filter. And what ever you do, do NOT waste your money on a K&N oiled filter.

    Do you suggest a certain tire? I plan on changing my rims and tires anyways, because I am not a fan of the ones that come on the truck when I bought it. But I want to stay more in the AT range if I can.

    For a fuel efficient mild AT tire the Michelin LTX AT2 is well respected and seems to have a long life.

    For a solid off road AT the KO2's seem to get a lot of mentions here on TW.

    I mention the bfg at alot...... They have had shit reviews on tire rack for yrs, and I spent alot of time on the truck forums before replacing my stocktires..... Lots of bad reviewsfor all but perfect conditions.

    The AT KO's are what killed my mileage as compared to the rugged fails that came on the truck.

    That's why I specifically mentioned something else for fuel efficiency. LOL True Off-Road type AT's are going to hurt the gas gauge.
