Hey guys, I just recently started making a few videos of my fishing adventures. I recently participated in a Kayak fishing tournament off shore and made a short video of how my day went. It was a ton of fun, hope you guys enjoy the vid! I will be making more hunting and fishing videos too, so subscribe if you like it. I will also be putting up some gear and tackle reviews, so be on the look out :rockband:

    Good job!

Other than being a SOT, can't really tell what kind of yak. Looks nice and narrow. I have an older Scupper Pro that is only 26" wide.

    How far offshore where you?

I assume you have a leash on your paddle, and I just wasn't seeing it?

Dig the float on your gaff. Speaking of which, what kind of gaff is that? I always find that larger fish are a bit awkward to handle along with my gear (like your video showed) and that gaff may be helpful.

You mention 9 hours and 20 miles. Did you have stretch breaks somewhere? I can't go more than 2 hours or so w/o getting out for a bit of standup relief!

My Yak is an Ocean Kayak Prowler 13 Trident. It is about 24.5" wide and paddles like a dream. Very fast and stable. The rigs I was fishing were between 5 and 6.5 miles out. No stretch breaks, I was pretty sore after this trip! I do have a paddle leash, and the gaff is an O&H 24". They make them as small as 12" up to the large 6'+ boat gaffs, and they are all available at Academy (I think I saw them in FL last time I was there but if not you can order online). I like it, but I wish the hook was a little bigger for the really big fish. I also have a 12" ranger gaff that has a better hook, but i prefer having the extra reach of the 24".

Thanks for checking the video out! Hope the info on the gaff helps...tight lines!
