Ordered TRD Sport 4X4 - how many weeks to Delivery

Was told by by dealer 6 to 8 weeks,
they actually do not know. If you ordered 2016 - how many weeks or months did your dealer predict arrival to dealership?
Is there any way to track my vehicle - when will VIN NUMBER BE ASSIGNED TO MY
2016 coming from factory?

 

What configuration did you get? (Long bed, premium/tech etc) where are you located?

Those are some factors.

 

I'm waiting on a DCSB 4X4 with entune audio JBL in Barcelona. I'm in Northern California and was told 4-6wks aka early mid Nov

 

That's probably reasonable. Generally if you have a long bed ordered or live in the East/Northeast you're screwed.

 

I ordered 2016 Sport Short bed 4X4 Red - new bed cover - Chrome running boards. Upper technology package with JBL! Looking $40 K Sticker Live in south Louisiana // dealer does not know how long saying maybe up to 8 weeks // - they admit they are guessing // Toyota is far behind on more than just new Tacoma - was told I will not know VIN until close to shipping // trying to get feel for how long before delivery - more than two months will call other dealers and take something similar -

 

my 4x4 Sport AC is due early November (build date of Oct 16). I'm near Atlanta

 

Thanks for reply - I have nothing on build date yet - just ordered yesterday - how long after you place order did you get build date - if my build dates is more than 8 weeks away - probably start looking for a dealer in state with similar specs of my order and purchase -

 

My dealer called in a change to one that they already had in their queue, so I don't think they placed a fresh order for mine. That may be an option for you if your dealer will do it..

I talked with them initially a week ago on the 23rd, and I got my build date yesterday.

 

I put in a factory order for mine (no dealer allocation) on 9/14, build date is still TBD. ETA delivery window is 2/2-2/15. Order is marked as "ASAP" so the vehicle may come in November/December.
Should hopefully find out a build date on 10/12 as that is when the September orders are cut off.

I don't work for Toyota. I do work in the industry, we deal with all manufactures so my buying power is pretty strong with the dealers, my company holds Fleet ID #'s with all the manufactures so we are able to place normal factory orders without having to worry about allocation and we are able to build the vehicles however we want. We don't have any limitations for our ordering and get fleet discount pricing. Unfortunately there are no fleet incentives currently for the Tacoma.

Before anyone asks, I do not get friends and family discounts and I do not get hookups for deals outside of my company.

 

Ordered a TRDORDCLB on 8/1. Build date was 9/1. As of last week build was pushed back to 10/2. With delivery 10-14 days later. Build is in Baja, I'm in SLC, UT. Just hoping it's actually built Friday.

 

Thanks for info on time lines - - thought I had silver TRD Sport 4X4 on the way from Houston to my dealer - no such luck - now pushed back to (maybe) 8 weeks before delivery- had not even left factory - something was holding back its release -

So ordered the red - which ever comes in first would keep - if I find out soon this goes past November - get on phone looking for something near by //
ps. the TSS Model Tacoma from Houston - my dealer getting lots of them - 4 this week-- three were red and of course no 4X4 . everything else is drip and drop slow.

 

friend visited local dealers - pays cash for his vehicles- tried to order 2 SR Access Cab 4X4 - dealers told him best guess time frame of 3 months - My TRD DC SB 4X4 Red factory build is months before to me.

 

why don't you ask the people you bought it from

 

I am Talking to them - local dealer has huge sales - yet they do not have short term build dates - Toyota is adding another shift - hiring two hundred plus new workers and of course training takes time - assembly line is shared with Tundra's which out sells Tacoma - plus new build with problems that accompany - when a customer walks into dealer with cash and wants two SR AC 4X4 and told 3 month until delivery - certainly reveals the problems Toyota is experiencing - it will get better next year but wanting a 2016 in 6 to 8 weeks as of today is unlikely.

Ugh. I've been waiting since the end of August. What dealership did you order from?
