Hey guys im looking at some 1st gen tacos... ive read alot about them and think one will fit me well. im in ct the lovely rust belt... So here is the main question.. ive been looking around and i know the frames have been replaced on numerous trucks.. but i did just find a 03 tacoma with 50xxx on it.. its undercoated. ive found a few others as well that are any where between that and 100 thou..
Would u buy a tacoma with the undercoating or no.. im looking to DD this and have it last some time...

im still looking for one witha replaced frame but its thin pickings and im looking for one lower miles. i know asking for the best of both worlds.
    Thanks guys

No undercoating=no wondering if the frame is crapping out. Get one that's less than 15 years old and take it to a trusted dealership right away to get your free inspection. Either you'll get a seal of approval for your frame or a brand new frame for your new truck. Win win.

I thought the frame inspections had to be completed by a certain date. At that point they undercoated those that were good and replaced those that were bad. Extended the warranty to 15 years for those that were undercoated.

In general if it's been coated you should be good to go and with the warranty. But having just bought one like that myself I don't know how that works if there's an issue later. The two cleanest areas of my truck are ironically underneath and underhood. The body has dents and the interior still smells of smoke from the previous owner ...

A CARFAX should reveal if a dealer did anything to the frame; hell, some of 'em submit to CARFAX even for oil changes. But if no inspections/work has been done by now, it's too late.
