my 08 is giving me the fits. It's a manual transmission, so I can't find anything here on it. Reverse lights will not work, blowing fuses and the whole bit. I have to pull the safety switch on the side of the tranny to get my turn signals and the rest of the lights go work. I plug the switch back in, snap goes the fuse. Looked at the ground from the lights to the frame, it's fine. Tried pulling the bulbs and putting it in reverse still blows the fuse. Any help would be great.

    Thanks in advance.

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
Do you have a "tow kit" and if so is it the factory one or was it wired later on for a trailer?

No sir, and I replaced the switch on the side of the tranny as well. And there is no after market light, radios, remote starters or anything eletrical.

There is a short somewhere. Usually a tow kit wiring is the culprit, but obviously not in your case.

I think you are going to have to use a multimeter and test your wiring. I am not familiar with your specific model (manual transmission) but should be the 10A IG1 fuse in the drivers side junction box.

Could be something wrong with the backup light switch (located on passenger side of transmission) remove and cleaned it off, spray the prongs with electronics cleaner. I really couldn't say what would be wrong with it, something to cause a short.
