I maybe could've gotten them lower but they had to order mine, so just above invoice I was thankful they were willing to do that. Most other places told me I was going to have to wait or pay msrp. And since the one I want isn't a build for this region it had to be special ordered regardless. Once the truck gets here I'll make them pay top dollar for my trade and close the gap some more

They're also selling a used 2014 for more than a 2016 with the same options.

I would compare the prices with dealer fees but not OTD. Taxes and tags will be the same for everyone as it's based on a percentage

Bought my 4runner from Miller Toyota in 2003. Will never, ever buy a car from them again. Fuck those guys. Koons Tyson's said they would takes my information and not blow up my phone since I wasn't interested until next summer at the earliest. Yeah, 5 calls in 2 days. They are seriously pissing me off.

I went by Ourisman Chantilly this weekend. They have a TRD Sport DC 4x2. I didn't have time to stay long and it was nasty out. I got to look at the truck for the first time. I will have to say it looks a whole lot better in person. It was during the storm. The truck had a cover that didn't look all that great. I didn't like how it stuck up on the back and I got to look inside to see if it was actually sealed. Lets just say, I will be looking for an aftermarket cover when it comes time for me to buy. 20151003_132930.jpg 20151003_133029.jpg 20151003_133221.jpg 20151003_132957.jpg

So I was thinking about the difference in msrp from 2nd to 3rd generation so I looked at the two in comparison. For my vehicle it is about a 2k increase in msrp. However for that money I'm getting an engine with 40 more hp, supposedly better gas mileage, smart key keyless entry with push button start, led DRL, projector headlamps, auto dimming mirror with compass, heated mirrors, 6sp auto instead of 5, soft lower tailgate, locking tailgate and glove box, bed light, premium entune with navigation, new smart display in the gauge cluster and I'm sure I'm missing things. That's actually a decent amount of upgrades for that cost. Especially considering vehicles usually increase in price every year anyhow. The cabin is also quieter than the previous model. Oh and wireless charging (for those that use it)

Also has hill assist control on other models instead of just the off road. The ability to monitor individual tire pressure is nice along with having fuel economy on dash. When you add up all the features it's easy to see why there's an increase in msrp

Also has nicer wheels in my opinion. They were using the previous ones for years and years. It was due for a change

I would pay 2k extra just for the hand brake. Not really, but when I read that they added that they changed the e-brake system I nearly jumped out of my seat in excitement.

My new truck is expected to deliver by the end of the month. I may conveniently arrange to go down there on the last day of the month so they scramble to cut a killer deal. They sent me an email with a coupon for $1,500 off invoice on any vehicle for September 30, if theyre making deals like that on the last day, could save some more money for sure

Here's what I don't understand. Pricing my trade in value on black book- in order to pick a double cab 4x4 I have to select sr5, however in the options there is a button that says w/o sr5 -$825. But TRD sport has EVERYTHING sr5 has and then some. But it only adds $700 to the value. So according to black book the sr5 is worth $125 more? Wtf. The sr5 option was literally half the cost of the TRD sport and has less features. The sr5 also does not include the towing package. Am I missing something here?

Newbie here. Wanted to share my experience with DMV dealers. Its my 1st time ever buying a new car and first time buying any car in the USA. Anyway I first went to Koons Tyson. My first 2 reps took 5-7 days to respond to email. I finally got the 3rd one to respond. Told him what I wanted and I was quoted MRSP. Custom build delivery estimate end of November.

Just yesterday Koons confirmed the build. But at first the factory didn't want to build it. Apparently Koons manager called a top level build factory manager and convinced them to build. Before they confirmed it I expressed my frustration on why the factory couldn't build a 40K truck to my specifications. It was my first new vehicle ever and I should have it my way. I told them I wasn't having it any other way Or I might as well go to other dealers and by it off the lot.

    Here's what I got...

    $34,340 - TRD Off-Road 4x4 DCLB Auto
    $3,035 - Prem & Tech Pkg w/JBL
    $650 - Tow Pkg
    $469 - Security System VIP

    $38,494 - Sub Total

    $1,680 - Tax (VA)
    $72.50 - Tags/Title/Registration
    $599 - Processing Fee
    $900 - Freight

    3,251.50 - Fees

    $41,745.50 - Grand Total

Once I got this info I went to Edmunds online and selected the same vehicle and they automatically sent it to other dealers in the area (Autonation, Jim Coleman, and Fitzgerald). I know there were others but I guess these were the dealers in the distance radius I specified. I showed them what Koons offered and asked if anyone could beat it by $1000. No one could. Autonation could only beat it by $100 with their processing fee. And all said they couldn't get it delivered by the end of November. So I stuck with Koons.

But dealing with Koons is terrible. Slow response on email. I first contacted them On Sep 7 and only now the build was confirmed. All my questions were not completely answered. On average it took me 2-3 times to ask the same question to get an answer. My last email he didn't answer any of my questions about accessories so I gave up on it. Really frustrating. I'll just wait for 3rd party accessories or discounted OEMs when they come out.

My new MT TRD Dbl CAB Sport is supposed to be in this week, 10/8 or so, in Baltimore. Not sure if I'll take it because I'm debating if I want the premium package, and I'm not sold on the M/T based on my test driving it on a 2015. I have never driven auto but couldn't stand the Tacoma's stick. I hear the 2016's are revised for better shifting. Anyone have any feedback?

The first 2016 I drove shifted butter smooth, way smoother than my 14 and you barely noticed it. The second one I drove was a bit more hunt and peck, but I think it all has to do with the break in of them

Theres a few that are dealing close to MSRP even on special orders. You probably dont want to wait at this point but you could have saved 2-3k on your purchase from one of those dealers

Actually Jim Coleman and Fitzgerald flat out said they cannot beat Koons. Only AutoNation could beat them but it was only by $100 but the can't get it by the end of November.
