RIDGELINE or TACOMA??? (Sad to consider)

The Taco will probably be cooler with a full frame, but I'm not hardcore off roader (as most Tacoma owner's are not) so maybe a $35,000+ Ridgeline with a user friendly, slightly larger interior could be the ticket for some of us losers who desire an adjustable drivers seat. Based off the new Pilot, I may wait to see what the actual new Ridgeline ends up being... Meanwhile, the waiting time well let Toyoda work out the bugs on the ALL NEW 2016 Tacoma without manual height adjustable driver seats... Limited $40,000.00... Utilitarian Truck Bargain???? I Think they (Toyoda) have missed the mission statement with this truck. For $20,000- $27,000 maybe you can treat customers this way (Crap) but at $35,000 to $40,000 there are a lot of other semi paved roads to travel upon.

I've never had a vehicle with power seats, so I suppose I'm just ignorant to their beauty. I've never thought "man, adjusting my seat would have been more efficient and effective if I had power seats."

It's very rare for anyone else to drive my truck, and it's my 6' tall wife at that. She tweaks it a little, but it's never an issue to just slide it back a notch or two.

Basically, power seats are a non-factor for me. They should at least offer it I guess...but the fewer features I pay for and never use the better.

I was prepared to buy a tacoma new in 2010, but the seating position was horrible. I think many people advocating for power seats simply want the ability to raise and lower the seat height and perhaps adjust the tilt of the seat bottom. I would actually prefer manual adjustments, but the seat height needs to be adjustable. Now I really want a 2016, but if I can't adjust the seat to my liking, I won't buy it.

New video says that the Limited Tacoma has a power drivers seat.

Power seats in the Limited totally makes sense. I personally don't care for them. I rarely adjust my seats, but when I do I want them adjusted quickly, and power seats are just too damn slow for me.

Manual adjust seats have certain intervals in which to choose from. Spacing is not very close on said intervals. I prefer something in between as well as a lower seat height adjustment. No power seat is a deal breaker for me. $35-40k truck and no power seat???? unreal!

The only thing missing is a seat height adjustment.......Power is not needed for that. A mechanical adjustment would be fine. But since I am the only driver 95% of the time a few nylon washers will do the trick. I love my tech but the only power seats worth having are memory seats when there is more than one driver.

I will be changing the bolts on the front of the seats to longer ones and adding in some spacers to raise up the front of the seat about 1/2-1 inch. I like to feel like I am sitting in a race bucket seat when I drive.

I am amazed there is no 8 way power seat option on the limited. I was prepared to buy that trim level just for that seat. I don't care about power but I want the height adjustment. I have a 2014 runner with an 8 way driver seat and a 4 way passenger. I'm 6'2, not super tall by todays standards. The drivers seat is so comfortable with the seat bottom tipped all the way back. The passenger seat my head is tilted touching the sunroof, not comfortable. My wife is 5' and always has it all the way up to see properly. This might actually be a deal breaker for me. I'll have to see what's available aftermarket.

My wife is 5'1". Your wife will be fine visibility wise unless she smacks things and blames it on "visibility":).

I should have clarified, the visibility is for her, the comfort is for me. I already have both seats, one is comfortable and one is crap. I make a 13 drive every year with the family so I've spent many hours in both back to back. I'll have to check with the wreckers to see what a 4runner seat goes for. I hope they bolt up?

Drive a limited runner now. I made mistake getting rid of pickup. You mentioned price range. Hard to find any vehicle now days without power seats unless you want a tacoma. Heck, my 98 dakota had power seats. 35k for sport tacoma is a lot of coin. Power seats should be standard.

It's all preference. I'm glad our new Tacoma has manual seat adjustment. Keeps the feel of having a Toyota pickup without sacrificing quality. There's enough luxury in the truck to justify my 31k spent. I have power seats in my F250 and it's really nothing to get excited about since I adjust my seat maybe twice a year.

For me it is not about how often one adjusts seat but the quest is to find that "sweet spot". Manual seats in Tacoma just dont do it for me. Had my 09 for 4 years and never got totally comfy with seat position.

I have a 1999 Honda Accord, and just about the only thing that has ever gone wrong with it so far is that one of the back seat windows will no longer operate. For several years I've just taped the window shut. Ironically, I never have people in the back seat so this window has hardly ever been operated. The driver side front window still works even though it has been operated countless times over the years. I suppose I'm just showing my age but, yes, I even consider power windows a very marginal convenience that is not worth their complexity. I see them as adding to initial cost, and when they fail, being expensive to repair.

Agreed. Even if it's manual, some height or rake adjustment is needed. Even my POS Mazda 3 has manual height adjustment.
